CONFER II Teleconference Bridge

The CONFER II (pictured above)

The CONFER II unit is a self-contained 6-party bridge 20"H x 9"W x 3" D, with its own power supply. The bridge connects to six PBX or Key System analog station lines or to Central Office lines. These may be used individually or in multiples with the CONFER COUPLER UNITs to provide up to 36 ports.

The CONFER II Board

This is a configuration of the CONFER II which plugs into the CARD CAGE for more space-efficient mounting of multiple units. It easily connects to 2-wire, loop start central office (C.O.) lines, centrex lines or analog station lines of a PBX or key system, via standard RJ11 modular connectors. The lines are usually programmed into a rotary hunt group in the PBX or C.O. so that only the lead number needs to be used. The CONFER II detects ringing signals on a line and answers that line. To release a line when a party up, the CONFER II requires disconnect from the PBX or C.O.. The preferred method is to see loop current interrupt on the line when the calling party hangs up, much like many voice-mail systems require. This is provided by virtually all C.O.s and by most PBXs (except Northern Telecom). It may require a "voice mail" card or an OPX card in the PBX.

The CONFER COUPLER BOARD

The CONFER COUPLER BOARD plugs into the CARD CAGE and will couple up to 8 bridges. It may also be used to couple two sets of 4 bridges in separate use. Power is provided by the CARD CAGE power supply.

CONFER DIRECTOR

DIRECTOR The director option is a desk-top control console. It gives the Conference Attendant/Moderator several convenient features to control a conference call with push buttons. It attaches to the CONFER II through a communication cable. It is available in 6 or 12 port configurations.
