links to institutions whose goals are to further and develop new
distance education technologies and methodologies as well as links
to our clients who currently maintain comprehensive distance education

Commonwealth of
Learning |
The Commonwealth of Learning is an International Organisation
established by Commonwealth Governments in September
1988, following the Heads of Government Meeting held
in Vancouver in 1987. It is headquartered in Vancouver
and is the only Commonwealth intergovernmental organisation
located outside of Britain
The purpose of The
Commonwealth of Learning, as reflected in the Memorandum
of Understanding, is to create and widen access
to education and to improve its quality, utilising
distance education techniques and associated communications
technologies to meet the particular requirements
of member countries.
DETAC is an official
supplier of technology to COL and has worked with
them in the past including a recent 'Team Canada'
trade mission in Malaysia in the summer of 1996.

ADETA |
ADETA is a voluntary, non-profit association made
up of individuals and corporate members who are interested
in distance education and training in Alberta. Their
motto is: “Collaboration and Excellence in Distance
Education and Training”. |

Red Deer College |
Red Deer College offers off-campus programming in
Blairmore, Cardston, Claresholm, Didsbury, Drumheller,
High River, Hobbema, Lethbridge, Olds, Pincher Creek,
Ponoka, Rocky Mountain House, Stettler, Sunchild and
O'Chiese reserves, Sundre, and Wetaskiwin. Students
can enroll in Teacher's Assistant, Early Childhood
Development, Adult Basic Education, and High School
Upgrading courses.
Many of these courses
are delivered using audio teleconference bridges
purchased from DETAC. More recently, the Lite Center
at RDC licensed LearnLinc software through DETAC
to deliver their courses over the Internet.

Athabasca University |
Twenty-six years ago, Athabasca University opened
its doors and became Canada's first fully accredited
open university specializing in distance education.
Today, Athabasca University is nationally and internationally
recognized as a leader in open and distance education,
offering a high-quality university education to more
than 12,500 students across North America each year.
Athabasca University

Dr. Ellis has worked
closely in the past with Athabasca University to
develop learning programs.
